Our History
CLTV brings viewers continuous coverage of Chicagoland's news that is convenient, up-to-the-minute, straightforward and accurate.
Launched on New Year's Day, in 1993, CLTV is ChicagoLand's only 24-hour regional news, weather, sports and information channel. Nielsen reports that CLTV reaches over 1.8 million cable households, making us one of the largest local cable channels in the country.
CLTV has earned numerous Emmy, Associated Press, National Press Photographers Association, and Society of Professional Journalists awards for photography, reporting, editing, programming, and public service efforts.
CLTV works closely with local newsgathering partners, providing viewers with insight, analysis and breaking news from the Chicago Tribune and CLTV "Weather on the 1's" from the WGN-TV Weather Center.
